About Shayne
I have several years of experience teaching and mentoring young campus journalists. I have been invited by different schools, agencies, and institutions to serve as a speaker and trainer in journalism, with Filipino Journalism as one of my areas of expertise. Through these experiences, I have developed a teaching style that is patient, engaging, and easy to follow.
Education has always been very important to me because it changed my life and helped me overcome poverty. This is why I am passionate about sharing knowledge and helping others achieve their learning goals. I believe that every student learns differently, so I always adapt my lessons to match each learner's pace, interests, and needs.
Whether you want to learn Filipino for travel, work, daily conversations, or to connect with Filipino family and friends, I'll be happy to guide you every step of the way.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading articles, exercising, and watching movies and series on Netflix. These interests also help me create enjoyable and relatable conversations during our lessons.

I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communication, Major in Journalism, which has given me a strong foundation in the Filipino language, communication, writing, and public speaking.
Although I do not currently hold formal teaching certifications, I have gained valuable teaching experience through different educational and training opportunities. Early in my career, I worked as a private tutor for kindergarten students, helping them learn the alphabet, basic reading, and early literacy skills. This experience taught me the importance of patience, encouragement, and adapting lessons to each learner's pace.
In addition, I have been invited by various schools, government agencies, and educational institutions to serve as a speaker and trainer in journalism seminars and workshops. My area of expertise is Filipino Journalism, where I mentor and train young campus journalists in writing, language use, and communication skills.
My teaching methodology focuses on creating interactive and learner-centered lessons. I use PowerPoint presentations, real-life examples, guided conversations, and practical exercises to make learning engaging and easy to understand. I believe that students learn best when they actively participate and feel comfortable asking questions.
As a Filipino tutor, I specialize in helping students improve their conversational Filipino (Tagalog), pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, and everyday communication. Whether you are a complete beginner or looking to become more confident in speaking Filipino, I will tailor each lesson to your goals and learning style.
