Anna is a most remarkable tutor whose ability to observe and judge how exactly to provide me with an individually tailored (bespoke) lesson plan led this absolute beginner to attain a DISTINCTION(!) in painting from University of the Arts. I went to Anna for perspective drawing which she tutored in simplistic yet non-patronising instruction; changing her approach with each following session to broaden awareness specific to my student questions and slow understanding. My confidence and professional development all began with her throwing out an A-Z method of drawing, and had me do “wrist loosening” line drawing. The magic of the sketches produced has made me an insatiable sketcher (on trains, in waiting rooms, in the mirror) and led me to joyous enquiry and pursuit of abstraction and figurative painting. My university tutors were highly impressed with how quickly my drawing skills improved, particularly perspective and composition. One of my line drawings was used for a digital Textile module, and praised for its innovative creation!
