About Melanie
I am a professional musician having taught violin, guitar, mandolin for over 10 years. I have had literally scores of students over the years and many young students have continued to play into their adulthood. I teach one to one as this gives the best possible help for technique - very important in early lessons especially. The first lesson will be a normal fee paying lesson.

My methodology is guided by the needs of the student. I can teach by written score or by ear. I have a library of videos on YouTube of beginners' pieces as well as 4 books of tunes collected from traditional Irish sources.

Perfect! She was very clear about her methodology and we tried that in the lesson. Namely learning by ear. It was then adapted to suit my priority needs which is to understand rythym and bowing. Looking ofrward to another lesson with Melanie.
