About Ray
I first started tutoring during my honours year and that is when I fell in love with teaching. "Docendo discimus"- by teaching, we learn. That is my motto,. I am not here just to throw knowledge at you but also to learn, I am here to facilitate (not dictate) your learning experience. I am a qualified and experienced tutor with almost 2 years of teaching at a high school also under my belt. I have a passion for the sciences but also a passion for the arts! I am able to bring fun and creativity into my lessons because of this. I am a lifelong learner myself.

I take a learner-centred approach to teaching and learning where my students' interests and strengths are strengthened and their areas for growth are built-up, free of fear of failure. My language of learning and teaching is English only. In a typical lesson, you can expect an introduction to the topic where we figure out what you already know (there is no point in me teaching you what you already know), and we identify areas that you struggle with. The rest of the lesson we incorporate fun ways of learning through visuals, sounds and movements to really get your brain to remember AND UNDERSTAND the work! My lessons are aimed at high school students from Gr8 to matric.
