About Andreas
Hi! I'm Andreas – an enthusiastic acoustic, rock, and metal guitarist and passionate guitar teacher from Berlin with over 30 years of experience. Music has been a companion to me since I was 6 years old – first piano and, at 12, guitar, on which I've since gained diverse experience as a player, songwriter, and arranger in rock, hip-hop, and metal bands, including top-class lineups with international reach as far afield as Japan. I've had the opportunity to learn my craft from outstanding artists such as pianist and organist Olaf Joksch (hr-Sinfonieorchester) and guitarist and producer Olaf Lenk (At Vance). I've continued my training in master classes with guitar legends Paul Gilbert (Racer X, Mr. Big) and Michael Sagmeister (Sagmeister Trio, United Jazz + Rock Ensemble).
Their range – classical, jazz, blues, rock, country, manouche, fusion and metal – has had a decisive influence on my understanding of music.

As a teenager in the 90s, I began teaching students, sometimes substituting for my guitar teacher at music school. What motivates me to this day is enabling rapid success and sustainable progress – through customized strategies that build on your existing abilities. The next step forward always lies in what you already know! We develop your musical understanding and technique not through dry runs, but in the context of real music that you enjoy. Each song serves as a treasure trove of chords, rhythms, licks, and techniques that you learn to recycle and expand, adding to your growing musical vocabulary.
I also particularly enjoy teaching how to play fast – also called “shredding.”
I'll support you in achieving your goals – whether you're just starting out on the guitar, want to master certain pieces, or want to further develop your playing. Your wishes, your learning pace, and your enjoyment are my focus.
