Ten years teaching SAT, ACT, high school math and English and more!

My 12 yr Son is preparing for the SHSAT and Chris has been doing a great job and deepening his understanding.
He helped to strengthen his approach to solving the problems but even more importantly helped in building his confidence.

Christopher Agnew assisted My Daughter in successfully attaining a high SAT score.
The lessons with Christopher were easy to understand and Christopher took the time to explain in detail every aspect of the Test.

Christopher is an awesome teacher. Very patient, and he reviewed the work that he had difficulty with and worked with him on it. I look forward to seeing him again.

With a few painless lessons, Chris was able to raise my son's ACT scores significantly. Most impressively, he taught him a few easy strategies for the reading section, which had been his weakest area, which resulted in a 34 on that section. We were very pleased - it was time and money well spent.

Chris helped my son prep for the SAT over the summer, he went from a 1320 to a 1560! He assigned homework and made sure he stayed on task. My son actually enjoyed the lessons, I highly recommend Chris!

Knowledgeable and EXTREMELY patient
Christopher came here to teach me pivot tables which I needed to know for work. I had no knowledge of what they were or did and when he left I had an understanding which I did not think I could achieve in such a short time. The patience he showed was wonderful as I was nervous and he put me at ease which is not an easy task! He also had to figure out what I need to do (in Excel)when I do not completely understand it myself but by the time he left, he understood and I am confident that I can succeed now and it is all because of Christopher!

Helpful Geometry Tutor
Just had our first session with Christopher and my daughter is eagerly looking forward to the next one. He added clarity and helped her connect the dots on some concepts that she was unable to get from her high school teacher.

Relaxed but perceptive and capable

Having read Christopher's bio, I sensed that there was something special about him, and that he was the right one for our son who has some learning challenges, particularly in the area of Math. I believe it is very important a tutor connects not only on an academic level but also where there can be some light hearted conversation. Christopher arrived punctually for our first meeting and his assessment of our son. In advance of that meeting I had explained to Christopher what the challenges are and what our collective objectives are. As soon as I saw him, he appeared to relaxed but confident. After an initial introduction, I stepped away to let Christopher and our son become acquainted and he immediately set about establishing some common ground which happened to be a particular sport. No more than Christopher, our son is also very perceptive and despite the fact that he initially resisted the idea of any tutor, his words after this first meeting were "I can work with him"! Its obviously early days yet, but so far so good!

on time, encouraging and smart

That is what you want in a tutor. Chris takes the time, expects results, increases the child's confidence and pushes them to expect more. We will use him again in a year when our next child is prepping for SAT/ACT.

Everything about Christopher was excellent. Easy to reach and and very good tutor. He did a great job listening to what I needed and then seemed to hone in on aspects of Excel that he felt like I would need.

Great tutor! Chris is a terrific tutor. He is patient and explains things they way my son can understand. He calls back immediately and and is very prompt. I would recommend him to anyone.

Very Happy
Chris is a wonderful, kind, and thoughtful tutor. We are very happy with his work in helping to organize our high school junior. Can't ask for more.

Patient, Focused, Wide Range of Knowledge. Chris has been working with us since the beginning of the school year. He is always on time and very thorough - taking time to carefully review and help with each lesson. He works with our son on all subjects and we have seen a clear improvement in focus and performance. I would recommend Chris to anyone.

Christopher is a very nice teacher, always patient, encouraging, and kind. My son likes Christopher very much. With his help, my son is making progress step by step and become more confident. Sure, I will recommend Christopher. Hope he will not become too busy because my son need him also :) Maggie

Friendly, attentive and knowledgeable tutor.
Christopher was very flexible in scheduling times to see our student. He came well prepared, was familiar with my son's academic agenda, and was able to quickly assess my son's strengths and weaknesses. We agreed on a strategy going forward and all involved are excited to work with Christopher. He's great!

Chris can work independently and is able to follow through to ensure that the job gets done. He had accomplished many tasks with great initiative and with a very positive attitude. He has helped me with my exam and as a result I received an A along with my other assignments and essays. He is a great, intelligent tutor and I highly recommend him!

Chris is a truly gifted tutor. He catapulted me to a whole new level with Excel. He is extremely knowledgeable and able to explain things in ways that make them easy to understand. He is incredibly patient, and able to work collaboratively in ways that allow students to practice their skills with real applications while he offers guidance, advice and solutions. I found him very easy to reach and extremely accommodating and accessible. I worked with Chris for many hours and recommend him most highly as a tutor for anyone, young or mature, beginning or advanced. He is very simply the very best!!!

Wonderful Tutor

Chris has been so helpful! Without him I would never have been able to pass my Statistics class. Highly recommended!

Very adaptable, resourceful and patient
Helped me with a research experiment I'm doing. Adept at finding and using various sources. Very pleasant, friendly and honest. Fun to work with.

Benson, 5 lessons with Christopher

Knowledgable and Experienced Tutor
Chris did an excellent job with our 11th grade twin sons. Their learning styles are very different, yet they both felt that Chris connected with them on a personal level and succeeded in making the material more accessible.
