About Steve
Born in Thailand to British parents, I spoke Thai outside the home in my pre-school years, then went to English-speaking schools where I forgot most of it, then after only holiday visits for many years I returned after university to become fluent and literate in Thai as an adult. I have worked as a Thai-English interpreter on numerous occasions in Thailand and the UK. I also have transferable skills from being qualified and experienced as a tutor of English for speakers of other languages (including Thai people) for many years now, and from teaching other languages.

I will build from simple, common words to useful sentences and dialogues with language you can use in different contexts. I use pictures, video clips and real Thai materials as well as conversation, explanations and practice. I am patient and encouraging, with a good sense of humour. If you want to read or write, we will start with letters and simple words, using some real life materials you would actually want to read, as well as other simple exercises. Once you get used to the alphabet and rules you can read almost anything!

Steve is a great teacher with a very relaxed and friendly approach. He makes learning Thai fun and engaging, using different interactive techniques that really help you understand and remember what you’re learning.
My girlfriend and I have been having weekly Thai lessons with Steve and have both seen a huge improvement in a short amount of time. Having regular lessons also keeps us motivated to keep improving and study between sessions.

This is my son who has been teaching English as a foreign language for 10 years and also teaches some Thai ,Spanish, and guitar. He is friendly, and informal, relates well to other nationalities as he's lived in Thailand for many years and fluent in the language .He is honest and conscientious and doesn't charge too much for lessons.
I'm one of Steve's 3 sisters. Steve is the most gentle and patient person I have ever met. A great listener and a big empath. Having lived in 3 different countries he is able to relate and connect across cultures and has an accent that is easy to understand.
I met Steve a couple of years ago as he was helping to run a group for international students at my university. He is kind and friendly - always ready to see the need and help out. He has a deep understanding of different cultures and is extremely patient, while also speaking English very clearly and correctly. Totally recommend him!
Steve is a gentle, encouraging guy, with lots of experience in ESOL teaching. He's also lived abroad for many years and knows what it's like to have to communicate in a new language, and to have to settle into a new culture. Check him out - you wont regret it.
