About Anncollins
Let me tell you my story! At age 23, my Bachelors degree of Liberal Arts included studying at LSU Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Northeast University in Monroe Louisiana.
I then got married and had children because I fell in love. As my children grew, it became apparent to others and me that i had gifts in being able to communicate well with children. My
first two years of teaching were in the day care where my children attended. I began to teach four year olds how to read. Wow! I had a private school curriculum and I said, “I can totally do this.”
I then went into teaching elementary age children,in that school, while i began my Education Studies at University of Louisiana at Monroe. I acquired many blessings during that time and soon I was a certified Secondary Teacher of Speech, Theater, English, and Health and Physical Education.
I taught all four of those subjects for the next 25 years. I am Retired and I am, and will always be A Teacher!

Yes, Timing and facial expressions are important in performance as well as enunciating consonants! These are tools for the basics of any oral performance. Added to your studies are living with your character as he or she becomes a reality. You are not just memorizing lines. You begin to move with intent and suddenly you are not acting. You are a new person and your audience will believe in you!
Reading is being comfortable with WORDS as we go back to phonics for spelling, breaking down words into syllables, and finding the meaning of words. Comprehension of information is found by identifying main idea clues found in sentences. Writing is gathering ideas, writing and rewriting. Advance Literature includes analyzing the texts of prose or poetry of any genre.
The above skills are all STEP 2 after CONFIDENCE. I can show you how to do THAT as we strengthen your skills together.
