About Srikar
Hi! My name is Srikar, and I’m an incoming medical student at a top medical university. I am a recent graduate of UCLA with a Psychobiology BS degree, where I’ve maintained a 4.0 GPA across a range of challenging subjects, including general chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, biochemistry, math, and physics. My academic journey has been marked by success, having earned As in all my courses, as well as scoring 5s on the AP exams in AP Chemistry, AP Biology, AP Calculus AB/BC, and AP Physics. Additionally, I achieved a 35 on the ACT and ranked in the 97th percentile on the MCAT. With over eight years of tutoring experience, I’ve worked with more than 140 clients, helping them excel in subjects like chemistry, biology, math, physics, the ACT, and MCAT. I have taught all age levels from 5 - 40. My approach focuses on simplifying complex concepts, fostering understanding, and building confidence. In addition to one-on-one tutoring, I have developed comprehensive AP Chemistry and AP Biology curricula from scratch for a nonprofit, tailoring them to meet the needs of students aiming for top scores. Beyond tutoring, I am also actively involved in cancer research at UCLA and UCSF, focusing on molecular biology and cancer pathways. This hands-on experience, coupled with my academic background, gives me a deep understanding of the biological sciences, making me uniquely qualified to help students navigate their coursework and standardized exams. I also offer college counseling services, drawing on my experience interviewing at six Ivy League schools and being admitted to multiple top-tier universities. I know firsthand how to navigate the competitive admissions process and can help students craft compelling applications, ace their interviews, and stand out in the pool of applicants. I’m passionate about education and take pride in being a friendly, approachable tutor. My goal is to make learning enjoyable while helping students achieve their academic goals and perform at their best. Looking forward to helping you succeed!

As a tutor, my approach centers around clarity, strategy, and adaptability. I believe that the best learning happens when complex material is made approachable, so I break down difficult topics into digestible parts and connect them to real-world applications or analogies that resonate with each student. I focus on building a strong conceptual foundation first, then layer in problem-solving strategies and test-taking techniques.
A typical lesson with me starts by identifying the student's specific goals—whether it’s mastering a challenging unit, preparing for an exam, or shoring up gaps in foundational knowledge. I tailor each session accordingly: reviewing key content, walking through practice problems step-by-step, and encouraging active recall and spaced repetition to ensure retention. I also emphasize metacognitive skills—helping students understand how they learn best so they can study more efficiently on their own.
What sets me apart as a tutor is the combination of my academic track record, breadth of teaching experience, and ability to connect with students of all backgrounds and ages. Having tutored everyone from elementary school students to working professionals returning to school, I’ve developed the intuition to meet students where they are, adjust my teaching style on the fly, and provide encouragement and structure at every step.
My lessons are best suited for high school and college students preparing for science-heavy courses, AP exams, standardized tests like the ACT or MCAT, or navigating the college admissions process. Whether you're aiming for a top test score, trying to conquer organic chemistry, or crafting the perfect college essay, I’m here to help you get there!

As a student at UCLA, I was struggling with Biochemistry until I found Srikar. Srikar's in-depth knowledge of the subject and patient teaching style helped me overcome my challenges and excel in my coursework. With Srikar's guidance, I not only passed my Biochemistry course but also earned top grades, setting a solid foundation for my academic future.
Srikar, known for his exceptional expertise in AP Chemistry and his friendly, kind demeanor, was a true blessing for my daughter at Evergreen Valley High School. His genuine care for her success not only helped her grasp difficult concepts but also boosted her confidence in the subject. Thanks to Srikar's guidance, my daughter received a 5 on the AP exam. She is now planning on pursuing the pre-med track as a result of her newfound passion.
