About Yimika
I am a first-year Philosophy and Psychology student at Durham university who plays clarinet and sax; I play at Jazz nights and in a few groups at the university as well for the fun of it, but also to improve my skills and techniques. I love playing music just because it's such a good way to express yourself and relax, but it also allows for so many transferrable skills - last summer, I went on tour with my old 6th-form jazz band to a few countries in Europe and being able to play with them in different places was extremely helpful for my performance techniques but also learning how to adapt to each situation differently

I will provide 1-1.5 hour lessons for beginner or intermediate clarinet players for both jazz and classical musicians! Our lessons will consist of a brief warm-up including scales and arpeggios, moving on with any repertoire you want to work on or new skills you may want to learn - for beginners, we'll go over breathing techniques, the correct embouchure, and focus on creating a strong sound
