About Katie
Originally from Detroit, Michigan, I started my ballet, tap, and jazz training at Gotta Dance Dance Studio at the age of 3 years old. After moving to Houston, Texas in 2012, I continued my artistry at Rowland Ballard School of Dance, in which I performed in multiple contemporary and storybook ballets such as the annual "Ballet Gala", "The Nutcracker", "Snow White", "Alice in Wonderland", and "Cinderella". During my time at Rowland Ballard, I attended summer intensive programs with American Ballet Theatre, Joffrey Ballet Chicago, and University of Oklahoma School of Dance. Additionally, I have received scholarships from Regional Dance America and the University of Wisconsin Dance Department. I am currently enrolled at University of Wisconsin- Madison pursuing a double major in Dance and International Studies. I have been dancing for 15 years, and I cannot wait for another year!

With experience in Ballet, Modern Dance, Jazz, Tap, and Choreography, I focus on strengthening technique and helping the student discover their own artistic expression. A typical lesson would include meeting through zoom or video call, and the amount of time depending on the student. Together, we would work on strengthening, flexibility, technique, and learning how to find your voice through movement. These lessons are for students over the age of 8 years old who are able to participate in an full body movement activity in your home or in a studio.
