About Nick
I don’t believe in the phrase ‘bad at math.’ Usually what it means is that a student fell behind earlier in their schooling, and with every compounding curricular year, they found it progressively more difficult without a strong foundation until they decided that it just wasn’t for them. With the right perspective and foundational understanding, anyone could be ‘good’ at math.
As a very visual and articulate learner myself, I can help students understand the ‘why’ behind the steps, and prepare them in a way that reinforces foundational understanding to better prepare them for when they are facing new material.
I also have experience as a guitar teacher, and experience working on ways to make lessons feel engaging instead of tedious.

My lessons will start with conceptual questions related to the material I am about to share, followed by an explanation of the material, followed by examples and follow up practice questions.
There will be a strong emphasis on the ‘why’ for every step, as it is more important than memorizing steps.
The priority is to build a foundational understanding through communicating and asking questions in a way that students are prepared not only for the example questions but future questions as well.
