About Stella
Hi! I'm Stella, an undergraduate at the University of Cambridge reading Politics.
I've been tutoring for over a year and have experience with students displaying a wide variety of academic achievement. My tutoring philosophy is essentially based around setting concrete goals and developing independent study skills, as well as fostering a passion for the subject.
On the side of my studies, I'm a rowing coxswain, honorary secretary of the Peterhouse Boat Club and work with an undergraduate politics journal.

I deliver my tutoring online (through Zoom or GoogleMeetings), as I believe it delivers the most flexibility and allows me to work with students at a distance.
My first step when I begin working with students is to create a session plan based on their specifications, where I outline what will be covered during the sessions. After this has been approved by the student, I then try to base individual sessions around power point presentations or, if we're working on a piece of written work (such as a personal statement or essay), a Google Doc.
My main priority when it comes to tutoring is creating sessions with are structured but simultaneously flexible to individual students' needs. If a student flags up that they're struggling with something, I definitely want to address that before we begin covering new content. Equally, I like to integrate revision sessions and take-home 'topic tests' or exam preparation which students can take home to test their understanding.
