About Alyna
My English qualifications include a 770 on the R/W SAT, a 5 on the English Language and Composition exam, and experience as a writer as a part of an Asian culture advocacy organization. I am headed to the University of Michigan, a top 20 university, in the fall. I had a 4.0 GPA in high school, thanks to my work ethic and dedication to excellence. I believe that I am highly qualified to be your tutor in English.

I have experience consulting students primarily in 9th and 10th grade for essay writing; the essays include literary and rhetorical analysis, personal narrative, and commentary. I also have experience editing college essays for my peers with a focus on writing around a prompt. I also have prior tutoring experience: I tutored a student for SAT R/W and Math for a year. My tutoring philosophy is that every student is a reader and writer, it's just about finding what works for them. I believe in a student centered approach where I focus on learning about each student as an individual to inform how I give feedback and structure our sessions.
