About Hannah
I have been playing piano since age 7, gaining distinction in 7 ABRSM piano exams and an ABRSM qualification in music theory. I am a successful piano player and have performed in many competitions and concerts throughout my adolescence - earning 1st place in my high school soloist competition for four years in a row for outstanding musical performance.

My teaching method is based on the principle of accessible learning and each individual’s personal journey of learning. I strongly believe that players of all competencies, abilities and ages can learn to play piano at an advanced level if they show the enthusiasm and heart for it. Everyone deserves to enjoy the gift of music, and I hope to nurture my students’ interest for piano and enjoyment of personal learning by helping them reach the level they want to achieve. My learning will begin with a recap of the basics, or the “piano toolkit” - including intro to the piano, piano notes, the octave, hand positioning, body posture and the do’s and do nots. I will discuss with students what their aims are in piano playing and start to build my teaching from this. Depending on the students’ current ability, I will introduce basic music theory and help students’ understand how to keep a beat. I will allocate music and theory exercises if I feel it will benefit the student and am happy to answer any questions outside of the session about any piano-related matters. At the end of the learning journey, I hope to help students learn to read music, understand and be able to use basic concepts of music theory, and play piano to an intermediate-advanced level. I am happy to encourage students to sign up for exams/earn music qualifications.
