Nelly Guevara: Igniting Musical Excellence Greetings! I'm Nelly Guevara, a violinist with a journey shaped by passion, dedication, and a relentless pursuit of musical excellence. Born in Honduras and Argentina, my musical odyssey began at the National Institute of Music in Costa Rica, under the mentorship of J. Castillo, where I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Music. Driven by a thirst for knowledge and artistic growth, I continued my education at the prestigious Reina Sofia School of Music in Madrid, studying with luminaries like Rainer Schmidt and Marco Rizzi. It was here that I achieved my Artist Diploma and had the privilege of being part of the esteemed Albeniz Quartet, an honor bestowed upon me by Her Majesty Queen Sofía of Spain. A Tapestry of Achievements Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to perform on renowned stages and collaborate with distinguished artists and conductors worldwide. As a gold medalist of the Young Soloists Competition of the National Symphony Orchestra of Costa Rica, I graced the stage as a soloist, marking a pivotal moment in my musical journey. My pursuit of excellence has taken me to international music festivals across the Americas and Europe, including the Ibero-American Orchestra, Youth Orchestra of the Americas, World Orchestra, and the Santander Music Festival. Along the way, I have gleaned invaluable insights from masterclasses with legends like Leon Spierer, Ana Chumachenco, and Menahem Pressler, further enriching my musical palette. A Symphony of Experience From orchestral roles with esteemed ensembles such as the National Symphony Orchestras of Costa Rica and Colombia to my tenure as assistant concertmaster with the Gulbenkian Orchestra in Portugal and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Buenos Aires at Teatro Colón, my journey has been a testament to perseverance and passion. A Commitment to Mentorship Driven by a desire to share my knowledge and inspire the next generation of musicians, I completed my master’s degree in music performance at CSUN, where I served as an assistant to Dr. Lorenz Gamma. Guiding aspiring talents and witnessing their growth is a privilege that continues to fuel my own artistic evolution.
