About Etelka
I have a BMus, two MMus degrees (one in Composition and the other in Performance), a diploma in Kodály pedagogy, and Colourstrings teacher training. I attend further education events whenever possible and am a member of ARMTA (CFMTA) and APTA.
As a musician, I perform in various styles with various groups: Classical, Folk/Celtic and Middle Eastern Music. I like to think I'm quite eclectic!

Hello there! I teach violin and viola to students aged 4 to adult.
I use the Colourstrings method for young children (beginning age 4, parental assistance required) and more conventional methods books for older beginners aged 7 +.
I employ a student-centred approach and cater lessons to their needs and interests.
Typical lesson plan includes warm-ups, theory, movement breaks, and learning pieces.
I encourage and help students prepare for music exams (RCM, CC, etc.) as well as performances at music festivals.
