About Carol
Carol Xu is a violinist and educator with over 19 years of performance and teaching experience. She holds dual B.A. degrees in Music Performance and Economics from Emory University, where she studied with Jessica Wu of the Vega Quartet.
At Emory, Carol served as Concertmaster of the Emory University Symphony Orchestra and presented two solo recitals at the Schwartz Center for Performing Arts. She has extensive experience in chamber music, including string quartets and piano trios, and has performed in masterclasses with the Juilliard String Quartet, Randall Goosby, David Coucheron, and other distinguished artists.

Carol has taught violin since 2019, most recently maintaining a private studio of up to 15 students in Dallas. Her teaching philosophy focuses on nurturing each student’s unique talents and needs, not only developing a solid foundation in technique but also fostering a genuine love for music. She believes in a holistic approach to music education, and emphasizes the importance of creativity and expression in order to encourage her students to explore and enjoy the process of making music.
