I’m a guitar tutor with over 9 years of experience and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Digital Guitar Performance. I specialize in slide guitar, open tunings, and fingerpicking techniques rooted in traditional blues. My lessons are always tailored to each student’s needs, goals, and pace. Whether you're just starting out or seeking advanced guidance, I’m here to help you grow. I have a deep love for the raw, expressive power of blues music. I teach regional styles including Delta, Chicago, and Piedmont blues, helping students understand the unique rhythms and phrasing that define each sound. Lessons focus on tone, feel, and developing a strong rhythmic groove. We’ll work together on mastering both foundational techniques and the subtle details that bring blues playing to life. I use a supportive, motivating approach that keeps things focused but fun. You’ll gain confidence, build your repertoire, and explore your own musical identity. Authenticity matters, and I encourage every student to find their own voice while honoring the tradition. From bottleneck slide to thumb-driven bass lines, I’ll guide you every step of the way. My guitar teaching approach blends playing technique with real-world guitar care. I believe that understanding your instrument is just as important as knowing how to play it. Lessons include topics like changing strings, tuning stability, and basic setup to keep your guitar in top shape. We also explore how guitar electronics work, including pickups, tone controls, and effects pedals.
I teach students how to shape their tone and use their gear with confidence. Whether you're adjusting action height or dialing in reverb on a pedal, you'll know what you're doing. My lessons are practical, hands-on, and designed to make guitar feel less intimidating.
I work especially well with The Campfire Strummer and The Worship Leader. I help them stay stage-ready and confident in both sound and performance. Together, we focus on clean chords, steady rhythm, and knowing your equipment inside and out.
I also show how to troubleshoot common issues and make informed choices when buying gear. You'll learn how to build the right setup for your style. I make sure each student can play with comfort, care for their instrument, and control their tone. You'll master your gear and your sound, one step at a time.
