About Zane
With over 7 years of experience teaching guitar both in-person and online, I hold a Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance, specializing in Contemporary Styles. My teaching philosophy centers on helping students explore compositional techniques, arranging for guitar, and creating original music. I believe every student has a unique musical voice, so I adapt lessons to fit individual goals and styles. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced player, I guide you through harmonic concepts, melodic invention, and counterpoint to enrich your playing. I also support students in recording basic demos, giving them tools to share their music confidently. Over the years, I’ve worked with aspiring composers at all levels, including professionals seeking to expand their creative skills. My lessons blend practical skills with creative exploration, encouraging students to express themselves fully on the guitar. I’m passionate about fostering growth and discovery in every session. My teaching approach focuses on making music theory practical and easy to understand for guitarists. I cover important topics like scales and modes, chord construction, and harmonic analysis, always showing how they apply directly to the fretboard. This helps students see the connection between theory and playing, making their learning more meaningful.
I break down complex ideas into simple, clear lessons that build step-by-step. This approach helps students feel confident using theory in real musical situations. We work on developing a strong foundation for improvisation and composition, so creativity can flow naturally.
I have experience working with The Aspiring Rock Star and The Classical Purist, tailoring lessons to fit their unique goals. I focus on helping them translate theoretical knowledge into smooth, fluent playing. My support encourages steady progress and deeper understanding.
