I honestly have never done this before besides assisting fellow classmates then but I believe if you yourself are patient and even got as far as using your hands, action words, focus on the basics of the language everything will be fine. Also what I've learned is to encourage students to practice speaking that language in their surroundings that way they are able to familiarize themselves with it.
