About Kathy
My name is Kathy. I have 5 years Mandarin teaching experience in Shanghai and 10 years in Sydney. I can teach HSC students for listening and responding, writing and speaking to help them improve their language skills and receive band 6 in HSC. I can teach general students by different methodologies to fit their personalities and interests. I can teach adults based on their needs and talk about culture and history, etc. I am passionate about teaching. My great achievement is one of my students has got an offer in Shanghai Fudan University about learning Chinese Language and Literature. I hope every one of my students can enjoy the beautiful language with its history and culture.

I graduated from Shanghai University in International Business with 20 years of working experience in media and communications, good at writing press releases, CEO speeches, etc. After relocating to Sydney, I have been continuing in Marketing and Communications roles in a local company. I have been teaching Mandarin 5 years in Shanghai and 10 years in Sydney. My students cover from HSC students, students from year 7 to 12, and adults. The length of my Mandarin lessons will be varied depending on the year level of students. The normal class for an adult and student is 1 hour, for an HSC student, we can work on class hour based on their needs. I can design my lessons in a creative and innovative way to help younger students to learn a better Mandarin; provide solid practical questions and papers for Year 11-12 students for their HSC task, or customize lessons for adults based on their needs and language level, touching on history and culture. I can teach grammar, punctuation, and casual Mandarin to meet students' needs.
