About Sienna
Hi, I’m Sienna. I offer one-on-one songwriting classes or in-person sessions up to 20 km.
I have 10+ years of songwriting experience. I self-produced my own album at 17 and am currently working on album number 2. I have experience in live performance at a local level and was a finalist at my university’s talent show this year. I have been playing guitar for over 7 years and have 4 years of piano experience.
Currently, I am going into my second year of Creative Writing at university and plan to get my Masters in Songwriting.
I take my songwriting influences primarily from the lyrical chops of Phoebe Bridgers, Bon Iver, Sam Fender, Billie Marten, Fleet Foxes, Hozier, Tamino, Shakey Graves, and Gracie Abrams.
I specialize in and can help you with song structure (you don’t need a chorus), world-building, and trusting your instincts. Songwriting isn’t about reinventing the wheel—it’s about letting the audience in on the conversations you have with yourself.
I believe there is a song inside of everyone, we just have to be curious enough to go looking for it.

About the lesson

A typical session with me, Sienna, is completely adaptable to your songwriting interests and needs.
- We begin with a FREE 15 minute session where we can get to know each other a little bit.
- Then, I will evaluate your songwriting ability to create a curated plan just for you.
- In a typical session we may go over topics like: structure, rhyme scheme, storyline, craft, world-building, melody, syllables, hook, meaning, etc.—all depending on where you need to grow and your level of experience.
- I will also give you specialized writing exercises and improvisations to guide your creativity.
- As well, we will analyze songs from other artists. By dissecting these songs we can learn how the above topics work in a practical sense.
- In each session I will provide you with feedback on your own songs, practical ways to improve, and encouragement on your songwriting journey.
Genuinely, I want to see you not only improve, but flourish. I know I will be your teacher, but I am also looking forward to learning from my students.
