About Mandy
I am a final year Biomedical sciences student, meaning I do life sciences of a daily basis. I have been tutoring maths (grade 7-9) for 2 years now at Camp Sizanani Life Skills. During the beginning of lockdown, I have also tutored about 500 grade 12 learners online at Infinite Wisdom Learning for a period of 2months, in which we completed the entire life science syllabus.

My teaching method is rather casual, as I want learners to properly learn, insted of just saying they understand because they are afraid of punishment. Since we are in lockdown, I prefer doing online classes, such as on WhatsApp as this is a platform even the most underprivileged learners can gain access to. I send notes, then I follow by explaining these notes in a voice note. Learners then get a chance to ask questions where they need clarity. Finally we do a short activity to test the level of understanding the learners have for the topic at hand.
