About Anna
I am a professional working actor with a a great London based agent, which means I am auditioning and self taping auditions on a regular basis. I know what makes a great self tape and I can always help people elevate their performance. I started teaching drama workshops in 2008 with the East 15 Youth Theatre workshops whilst I was a student there. Over two years I taught children from aged 8 – 16 on Sundays and during school holidays. It was working with these kids and directing the shows we created together that set me on the path to become an acting teacher as well as an actor. I gained a BA Honours in Acting at East 15 and spent four years training in total. My training at East 15 is the reason I love teaching acting. I found a passion in being able to use the skills I had learnt to help others fulfil their acting potential. As an actor working in the industry I am constantly learning from others, directors, casting directors, writers and actors, you never stop learning. These experiences help enhance my teaching and what I have to offer students at any level. I love helping people get into drama school, helping with the prep that it takes to make a good impression and to nail an audition speech….monologues are hard!! Preparation is key. I also run a kids theatre company where we create and devise original shows which is always influenced by my lessons and teaching at East 15.

I use various acting techniques and methods that I have either learnt from drama school or from working in the industry, but ultimately it’s whatever works best for the student and what aids the performance and connection to character.
The most important thing is having the freedom to explore in a safe space whilst being supported by someone who has experience of auditions and performance themselves - that’s what I aim to offer my students.

•I have helped people get acting jobs as well as gain places at prodigious drama schools such as Guildhall, Bristol Old Vic and Drama Centre.
• I also run a kids theatre company Northern Core Theatre.
