I had the pleasure of being Shruthi’s tutor in her final year at Goldsmiths. I had noticed even before I was her tutor that she had a particular strength in narrating stories in an emotionally rich and complex way. She is highly sensitive to emotional under-currents and skilled at holding others in mind. I recommend her highly for work with children based on this quiet, confident perceptiveness. I would be more than happy for her to work with my children.

Having worked closely with Shruthi over the 2018/19 academic year as she completed her BA Hons in Fine Art and Art History at Goldsmiths, I would strongly recommend that she be accepted as a tutor. In my module ‘Autobiographies’ Shruthi has proved herself to a thoughtful and committed student. Each week she has engaged with the module content and reading, has participated in class discussion, and has been extremely generous in the manner in which she supports others in the classroom space. Shruthi has an open and clear manner, her communication skills in writing and speaking are excellent. I have no doubt that she would be an excellent tutor, able to guide a range of students with different learning needs through their study.

Further, responding to the module content Shruthi took the initiative to instigate a collective practice with fellow classmates where she and her peers succeeded to develop a system of support. This willingness to think with others meant that Shruthi has been able to negotiate the module in a way that has built her understanding of practices and theories. I have admired the manner in which she has persisted with this work throughout the year which culminated in a group presentation and consistently good grades.

Shruthi is a kind, accommodating and thoughtful student, with a depth of knowledge and care in delivery, I have no doubt that she will make an excellent tutor.
