Perfect! Polly made me feel comfortable and I felt able to explore the issues I needed help with, in a relaxed atmosphere.
She's very experienced and knows what she's doing and I feel happy that I have someone who can help me improve my singing voice and gradually build up my confidence again and generally make my voice and muscles much stronger, as I have had time away from the music scene ...for various reasons. I feel Polly might just be the person to help me with this.Perfect! Polly put me at ease from the start. Can't wait for my next lesson.
Perfect! Inspires Confidence and very easy to understand and work with.
Perfect! Polly is truly incredible! I’m quite a shy person and I have lost a lot of confidence with singing over the last few years but I know I love it which is why I came back to singing lessons. Polly is the perfect person to go to. She compliments your work whilst correcting your errors to improve your skills. I felt I have learnt so much within one lesson. She creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere making it easy to handle nerves. I could not recommend her enough. I really enjoyed my first lesson and can’t wait for many more!
Perfect! The best hour I’ve spent in a while! She’s super positive and funny also… plus a great singing teacher
Excellent! Very positive lady, knowledgeable in a number of different areas of music. I need pushing to do thing regularly and im now practicing most days
Perfect! Polly explained how important it was to open the mouth wide when singing to open up the airwaves and not sing from the throat. Also Polly helped me with my
pitch in general and I was so pleased she told me my pitch was good! Then we practiced chords and singing them which I enjoyed. I still have problems remembering the notes when played in multiples of 6 or more notes but I’ll continue practicing everything Polly advised. It was a lovely lesson!Perfect! OK, so I am 53 years old and never knew anything about music really, only its my passion to listen too and I love singing to myself! So I thought, try a lesson with no expectations and just do something for me!
I just had my first lesson with Polly and can honestly say, I have not stopped smiling since!
After being with her for only 2 minutes I knew I made the right decision. Polly made me welcome and at ease straight away and there was no pressure to sing, we just had a play around to see if I could match notes etc that she played on the Piano and if she was not surprised, what I found I could do shocked me!
By the end of the lesson, we were singing and playing along to practice differently ranges.
I use reviews a lot and think they are really important and I can whole heartedly recommend Polly, you won't regret it and like me, you will be counting down the days for your next lesson.
So if you are experienced or like me, totally new please don't hesitate, I wished I had done this years ago but I am here now.
Thank you Polly, your amazing and kind.Perfect! Polly was very welcoming and quickly put me at ease. She quickly identified an issue with my technique and this has already helped my singing. Thoroughly recommend!
Perfect! Very warm and welcoming environment, wasted no time finding out my goals and interests and tailored the lesson accordingly, excited for the next one!
- Thanks Caleb! You have a naturally lovely voice and it's clear that you deserved to achieve your Grade 8 singing exam. I'm looking forward to helping get to your next stage and working on more support techniques and 'covering the tone'. PollyPolly's response :

When I first went to see Polly there were a lot of things I didn’t like about my voice but I didn’t know what I was doing wrong or how to change my technique. She immediately pinpointed the parts of my voice that sounded weaker, and helped me to understand where I was going wrong. As we worked on improving my technique she broke things down in a way that really helped me to understand what to do in regards to singing in my lower head register, where to breath and how to use my diaphragm. Aside from all that she made every lesson fun!
I was always too nervous to start singing lessons until I bit the bullet and called Polly. I'm so glad I did! The quality of her singing teaching is second to none. I even managed to sing in front of a big band at my wedding, a life long dream for me – all thanks to her expert mentoring and teaching. She's immensely knowledgeable, uncompromising and fun. I felt I came on leaps and bounds under her tutorage. Thanks so much Polly
Polly is a fantastic tutor and my jazz piano playing has moved on a lot in my time with her. As someone who is classically trained, I've always found jazz and improvisation tricky. Polly bridges the gap between these styles and has lots of tricks and techniques up her sleeve that have helped me along the way. She is also a super lovely and supportive person. Highly recommended!
Having looked online for jazz piano lessons close to my office I found Polly. She's helped me to break out of the musical rut I have been stuck in and my playing is now much more fluid. She has opened me up to new horizons after playing and writing the same thing for 30 years.
Polly is a great singing teacher. She knows when to correct and when to compliment and we always have a laugh'.
Polly brings her considerable performing talent, flair and musical experience into the lesson environment and over the years she has helped me greatly in terms of both vocal production and performance skills'.
Polly taught me for several years while I was living in London. She helped me immensely – building up my confidence after a long spell of not singing. She is very knowledgeable and improved my technique, as well as being incredibly supportive. I found my lessons really enjoyable and was sad to stop training with Polly when I moved out of London'.
When I first went to see Polly there were a lot of things I didn't like about my voice but I didn't know what I was doing wrong or how to change my technique. She immediately pinpointed the parts of my voice that sounded weaker, and helped me to understand where I was going wrong. Her support and encouragement helped give me the confidence to perform on stage, record with other producers and eventually to release my own songs.
Having had trial lessons with a number of piano teachers, I can confidently say Polly is the best! I am not the most gifted of pianists, however Polly is very patient and lessons are always lots of fun'.
Let's face it, learning to play the piano is never going to be easy but a lesson with Polly makes it easier. She greets me each week with a smile and enthusiasm and has great patience. When choosing a teacher you don't just want someone who can teach but someone who inspires you to learn. Polly Hewett is exactly that'.
